Come and explore northern Rother with Rother Environmental Group, walk led by Caroline Donegan.
Do join me for a 4.5 mile walk around Ticehurst 12th March. The meeting place is in the car park at Pickforde Lane, Ticehurst TN5 7AS, in the village centre at the back of the Bell pub, signposted opposite the village square. The walk will start at 11am. Please come about 15 minutes before so you can sign in.
Our route will take us through the High Weald, along local footpaths, quiet lanes and farmland. There are amazing views of Bewl Water, very few stiles, a steep but very short section, (with an option to avoid it if too muddy or too challenging). Our circular route will bring us back to Ticehurst High Street. Our walk takes 2 hours with a short break in the middle.
Waterproof, sturdy footwear essential, dress for the weather as always. Take a snack and a drink if you would like one, but there is opportunity for a pub stop at end of walk.
The best way to get to Ticehurst from Bexhill / Hastings/ Rye area is by car share. Parking in free public car park in centre of Ticehurst village (public toilets nearby).
Please contact Rachel on 01424 846399 or email@example.com to car share from Bexhill and Sue on 07952166819 or firstname.lastname@example.org to car share from Battle. If you are from Rye contact Caroline on 07857722659 or email@example.com
Nearest train station is Stonegate but it is too far and dangerous to walk to Ticehurst from there and there are no buses. If travelling to Wadhurst station, it is possible to get the 254 bus to Ticehurst.
Other bus routes: 304/305 from Hastings, change at Hawkhurst then 254 to Ticehurst (allow 1h30). Do check the bus timetables.
I look forward to seeing you on 12th March. Caroline Donegan,
